  • Riverwood, an independent, locally owned business is currently looking for amazing, playful people to join our team.

We have both full-time and part-time positions, but are looking for a minimum commitment of 26 hours per week and at least one weekend day.

Compensation is competitive, with commission based bonuses.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

Customer Service - provide excellent customer service and making them #1

Diligently growing the customer loyalty program

Ensures merchandise standards

Maintain proper opening and closing procedures

Operates cash register and follows cash handling processes

Always willing to communicate to upper management

Maintain a clean and organized store**

QUALIFICATIONS -

Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a calm and understanding manner

Able to perform normal store standards including standing for long periods of time, unpacking and checking in merchandise, and any inventories that is requested

Math aptitude

Flexible Schedule that includes weekday or nights, and weekend shifts. Please include your availability with your resume.

Interest and knowledge of popular culture trends, including fashion and toys

 Program Director & Community development

Job Description:

As a Program Director, your main function is engaging the community in an educational and fun way, expanding our means to reach potential customers while maximizing profitability of All Events.

  • Develop Mission Statement/ Implement Mission Statement/ Vision across all events

  • The program director will be responsible for the planning, implementation and execution of all free and paid programming that maximizes profitability for Riverwood.  

    • This may include walk-in workshops, birthday parties, as well as after school programs. 

    • The program may be sponsored by the school district, a community group, or a nonprofit organization, but program directors generally work closely with day schools to provide an enriching and educationally sound experience.

  • Directors develop the structure of the program based on the needs and interests of the participants and parents, manage the program staff and operations, and maintain relationships with the community.

  • The director is the spokesperson for the program, representing it to the community and the media.

  • Programs vary widely according to their sponsoring organizations, budgets, and the participant interests. Whether a program is educational, arts-focused, sports-focused, or holiday-centered, the program director works with the program staff to develop an appropriate curriculum and plan activities that are consistent with the mission of the program.

    • Programs could teach children literacy skills, assist them with developing interpersonal skills or help them improve their academic performances.

    • We are a Gift store as well so events should not be limited to Toys and should include Anchor Vendor events: Brighton, Pendleton, Filson.

  • All plans, changes to programming, or concerns must be discussed with management in a timely way. No program will be advertised or executed without explicit management approval.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the Implementation and Development of the Free and Paid Events Schedules that maximize profitability and meet managements specific goals/ mission/ Vision.

  • In conjunction with developing the curriculum, the director also manages evaluation and assessment procedures for the program. Through both formal and informal assessments, the director tracks the progress of the program and individual students and provides progress reports to parents, schools, and the management.

  • Development of the Birthday Club along with Birthday Party Hosting both in store and offsite to become a powerful driver of in Store Sales.

  • Customer Experience Management Coordinating with IT and Management to ensure a seamless experience from Booking the Event online or in store to Customer Reviews afterwards.

  • Implementation and Development of offsite events: In Town Events, BCTC, Weekly/ Monthly Hospital Vending, Summer Wednesday Night Vending on Main Street, Festivals etc.

  • Responsible for all Marketing channels to maximize enrollments and maintain the highest visibility of the Free/ Paid/ Birthday Events. Facebook, Instagram, Email Campaigns/ quarterly Newsletters, Local Radio/ TV, Newspapers, and Local Events Boards.

  • Merchandising during ALL Free and Paid Events by coordinating with Purchasing Department ensuring key product is in stock during events as well as events or media coverage that may drive up demand for products.

  • Maintain a direct relationship with the Purchasing department and attend Toy Fair and ASTRA Marketplace Workshops, Kit Night/ Game Night to ensure competitive edge and unique and fresh events.

  • Complete ASTRA CPE, Certified Play Expert after 6 months.

  • Develop a network of hosting spaces and Performers available for hire for offsite Birthday Parties.

  • Customer Relationship Development and CRM through Lightspeed reporting and Omnichannel Marketing channels.

  • Able to fill in if necessary, to events if staff is ill.

  • Engages on Riverwoods Main Social media platforms Instagram and Facebook regularly.

Staff Management

  • Supervising events staff to ensure customer experience while maintaining safety for event attendees.

  • Hiring a diverse mix of events staff coordinating with the Hiring Manager and Store Management.

  • Responsible for the Scheduling and Training of all Events Staff.

  • Oversee Entire Riverwood Staff Development with respect to their training in Play for Profit after CPE completion.

  • Perform performance evaluations and develop professional development plans for the staff to ensure the program maintains a high level of quality.

Operations Management

  • Directors manage the operations of the event space for the program, from ensuring that the staff has the tools and equipment they need to do their jobs, to monitoring the environment for health and safety hazards. In some cases, the director may also be involved with the financial management of the event, in terms of budgeting, purchasing, and accounts payable.

Community Relations

  • Because the success of any program depends on its ability to attract students and provide them with meaningful and enriching experiences, after school program directors need to build relationships with schools, parents, and community groups to spread the word about the program and build support for it. The director may meet with parents, community groups, and school representatives to discuss the program and its benefits and seek feedback on how it can better serve children.

 EVENT HOST

Job Description

We are searching for the right candidate to fill Per-diem positions, hosting events at local establishments, including restaurants and bars.
This is great experience for anyone looking to expand their skills, make some money playing games, meet new people, engage in their community, and truly make somebody's day! Although you will be serving as a brand ambassador to our central location in Cooperstown, this will be a commitment-free way for people to connect with each other off site. Participants should leave the Game Nights, Birthday Parties or Special events feeling excited to attend another, and eager to stop into the store.
Candidates must be able to direct groups of people in an organized way, be timely, able to interact with different types of people, and ready and willing to have fun!
Hosts must have a flexible schedule, for this engaging in position which will require 1 to 3 evenings per week of availability, including one weekend day.
